Squash in the East of Scotland

Squash is a hugely popular sport in the East of Scotland and ESSRA is the body that supports clubs in the region with both development and competitive squash for all standards.

ESSRA governs the East leagues which run from September to March and organised sanctioned Scottish Squash events for junior, masters and open categories.

East Competitions

Junior Squash
Junior squash is thriving in the East with monthly Big Shots competitions run at various clubs from September to March. For more competitive players, there are the East Closed and East Open competitions and in April, the East takes part in the Scottish Inter-Regionals with five age group teams from U11 to U19.

Senior Squash
Team squash is popular in the East with men's and women leagues that run from September to March followed by a club cup competition to end off the season. For high-performance players, several clubs run their own open competitions and the East Open attracts players from all over the UK.

Masters Squash
Age group squash is growing ever popular with men's and women tournaments run all over Scotland for age group ranging from Over-35 up to Over-75. The East Masters is a popular tournament with over 100 entrants and takes place in November. in 2019, there were seven age groups.
